A two to three page survey is designed and specifically tailor-made for the client's needs. There is no rote survey that will give the information that our trained team will elicit with the correct questions. There are usually 15 to 20 questions, all thoroughly answered. Then the information is tabulated and analyzed, with a full summary and recommendation steps.
TABULATION EXAMPLE:
Trendsetters completed two cross tabulations. This one is the first and was done on 69 non-Internet users, but interested in the Net and the second was done on the public who are currently on the Internet. These were done around the country.
Tabulation of 69 public NOT ON THE INTERNET yet:
Demographics show that only one was a Mac user, the rest IBM clones.
Exact specifics are in the tabulation, with percentages, below, with public's exact words.
As far as occupation, 57.9% were white collar, and 18.8% involved in the computer field. (Previously done survey,of those on the Internet, showed 26% in the computer field)
This non-Internet users public were mainly Intermediate computer users (57.9%), although the next category was Novice (14.5%). There were 86.9% who do work on the computer daily and 72.4% who use a home computer. The surveyed public show 65.2% are male, and 30.4% are female. The top age range is 30's to 40's (65.2%) overall, and there were 15.9% in their 20's. PC magazine was the most popular publication that the pubic actually reads.
They are not on the Internet yet, but 100% wanted to learn more about the Net.
The rating question on the Computer Tutorial, on a 1-10 scale, shows the public rated the computer tutorial high.
44.9% Rated # 9
15.9% Rated # 8
15.9% Rated # 10This is over 75% of the public. When asked why they rated it that way, the public said:
39.1% Make it easier to understand/ easier to use
26% Speed things upWhat appeals to them most about the Internet is:
46.3% All the information you can access/ all the data available
34.7% The communication, connecting up/ talking to other peopleWhat they dislike about the Internet is:
63.7% Hard to figure out/ sounds complicatedWhat they most want to know about the Internet is:
79.7% How it works, How to get around/ How to use it more easilyWhat they feel is difficult or hard about getting on the Internet is:
59.4% Getting around/ figuring out what to doWhat they need to help them get onto and use the Internet is:
66% Some simple directions/ basic guidelinesThere were 75.3% who said "YES" about getting onto the Internet if there was an easy way to understand it. Another 15.9% said "Probably" and only 4.3% said "no".
ETC., ETC. ETC. An effective campaign with promotional buttons can then be done.
The tabulations are accurate, and done in easy to understand English, completed in a whole binder of data (hard copy as well as on diskette). This can then be used to write recommendations and the Marketing Strategy. It is very effective, and the most workable way to find Buttons and Marketing information as well as immediately being useable to the client themselves. One question we ask is how the public surveyed like to be approached or contacted, as well as what promotion they actually read and watch. This is then covered in the survey summary and recommendation section.
RECOMMENDATIONS SECTION:
This sections summarizes the top hot buttons, below, and then goes into a complete but understandable step by step (1,2,3) approach to reach and market to the targeted public.
It is approximately a 5 to 10-page summary and with all recommended steps, in writing.
This is based upon the survey results and all the research data, NOT upon opinion.
It also does not require a genius in mathematics or statistical analysis to figure it out.
It requires someone trained in our effective approach and experienced in marketing to go over it with the client and answer all questions. Then it is implemented.
TOP BUTTONS: Example----
* Make it easier to understand
* Easier to get started
* Figure out what to do
* Some simple directions, Basic Guidelines, simple guidelines
